Whats on

Opening hours during summer
We’re open as usual this summer, but Panorama will stay open later – until midnight – on Fridays and Saturdays from 1 July to 15 August.

For families and children
Kunstsilo offers free admission for everyone up to the age of 18! In addition to our free family workshop in the Multi Hall, we have a variety of activities across all floors. How about collective embroidery, a round of detective work in the Kunstsilo Quest – or stepping inside a painting in the S-Lab?

Guided Tours This Summer
This summer, we’re offering guided tours at Kunstsilo in English and German. The guided tour “From Grain Silo to Kunstsilo” tells the story of how a 1930s industrial building was transformed into an internationally renowned venue for art. You can also book your own private tour.

Summer Menu at the Brasserie
The Brasserie’s chefs are ready to serve you delicious dishes for both lunch and dinner – with something to please both young and grown-up taste buds. The kids’ menu includes favourites like fish cakes with fries and naan pizza. Why not try our popular mussels, the legendary barley risotto – or something else from our summer menu? The Brasserie is open daily from 11:00–22:00 (Sundays 11:00–19:00).

Beautiful gifts and Souvenirs at Kunstsilo Shop

Diverse Art Experiences – Six Exhibitions This Summer
Kunstsilo offers three full floors of exhibitions this summer – from digital and immersive works to graphic art from the Tangen Collection and paintings depicting landscapes of Southern Norway, all drawn from Kunstsilo’s own collections. You can also experience Cosmic Dimensions, featuring two key artists from the Tangen Collection: Carl-Henning Pedersen and Else Alfelt. Follow the link below for a full overview of current exhibitions.

Immersive Experience in the S-Lab
On the second floor, you can step into Amaldus Nielsen’s painting Linadalen near Mandal. This immersive installation is also interactive. The original work is on view just a few steps away in the exhibition From Deep Valleys to Smooth Seaside Rocks, which presents landscapes from Southern Norway.

VOX by Jónsi
Kunstsilo offers a powerful, sensory, and spiritual experience with the immersive installation VOX by Icelandic artist Jónsi. As a visual artist, Jónsi often starts with experiments in sound, creating enveloping installations together with his team that form a symbiosis of sound, light, scent, and touch. In VOX, the audience encounters a sound and light installation that visualizes the human voice. The voice is a universal and unifying instrument—older than speech and language—that has resonated through history in moments of both celebration and mourning.

The Best Panorama View in Town
At the very top of Kunstsilo, you’ll find Panorama — a bar serving pastries and snacks alongside an extensive drink menu. Enjoy the spectacular view from the outdoor terrace or inside the bar. Between July 1 and August 15, Panorama stays open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Art Terrace
Relax on our 5th-floor terrace, where you can soak in the weather and take in our sculpture display.
